What is Cortex?
Cortex is an AI-powered meeting transcript manager. Paste in any meeting transcript and Cortex stores it, generates intelligent summaries, and makes it instantly searchable — so you never lose track of what was said, decided, or assigned in any conversation.
Who is Cortex for?
Cortex is built for anyone who needs to stay on top of meetings — sales teams capturing discovery calls, doctors speaking with patients, project managers tracking progress and blockers, product leads extracting action items, consultants referencing past conversations, and engineering managers reviewing standups. If your work involves meetings, Cortex keeps you organized.
How do I get started?
Sign up for a free account — no credit card required. Once you're in, paste a transcript into a new recording, give it a title, and click any of your prompts to generate an AI summary instantly. Your first 10 transcripts each month are completely free.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan gives you up to 10 transcripts in total with unlimited AI summaries per transcript — no credit card needed. When you're ready for more, you can upgrade to Basic ($4.99/mo) or Pro ($19.99/mo) at any time from your billing settings.
AI Summaries
How does summarization work?
Once you've saved a transcript, open it and click any of your prompts. Cortex sends the transcript to Google Gemini — a state-of-the-art AI — which reads it and returns a focused summary in seconds. Summaries are saved directly on the recording so you can refer back to them any time.
Can I generate more than one summary per transcript?
Yes — Pro plan users can generate as many summaries as they want per transcript. Basic and Free plan users can save up to 2 summaries per transcript. You can always delete an existing summary to make room for a new one, or upgrade your plan to remove the limit.
What are custom prompts?
Custom prompts let you write your own instructions for the AI. Instead of a built-in template, you tell Cortex exactly what you need — for example, "Identify all stakeholders and their roles" or "Draft an agenda for the next meeting based on what was discussed." Your prompts are saved and available on every transcript with a single click.
Does Cortex include any default prompts?
Yes — every new account comes with three ready-to-use prompts:
- Discovery CallSummarizes a sales discovery meeting, extracts client pain points, demo requirements, and who was on the call.
- StakeholdersIdentifies every person on the call and their role.
- Agenda PlanningReads the transcript and drafts a focused agenda for the next meeting.
You can edit, delete, or add as many prompts as you need.
Search
Can I search across my transcripts?
Yes. Cortex has full-text search across both recording titles and the full transcript text. You can instantly find any conversation, topic, decision, or person mentioned — across your entire history, no matter how far back it goes.
How far back can I search?
There's no limit. Every transcript you save is permanently stored and searchable. Whether you're looking for something from last week or last year, Cortex will find it.

How does billing work?
Paid plans are billed monthly. Your subscription renews on the same day each month and your transcript limit resets at the start of each cycle. Payments are processed securely through Stripe — Cortex never stores your card details.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan at any time?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade at any time from your billing settings. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrading to the Free plan takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep your paid access until then.
What happens if I hit my monthly transcript limit?
Free plan users have a lifetime limit of 10 transcripts — once reached, upgrade to continue adding more. Basic and Pro plan limits reset monthly. All your existing transcripts and summaries remain fully accessible regardless.
Your Data
Is my data private and secure?
Your transcripts and summaries are private to your account — only you can access them. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. See our privacy policy for full details.
Can I export my data?
Yes. From your profile settings you can export all of your transcripts and summaries at any time. Your data belongs to you.
